- MMC's: Luke, Roman
- POVs Included: Dual POVs (Luke, Roman), Vlad, James, Anna

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Luke is kidnapped by one of his father's enemies and is held captive. But as he is there he and his captor, Roman Demidov, start to fall for each other.

It's not the most healthy way to meet someone, but both of them are having a hard time staying away from each other, even after Luke escapes.

REVIEW:

This was a pretty cute one actually. We first learn about Luke being kidnapped in James and Ryan's book (Just a Bit Confusing). And in this one we get to find out what happened to him.

Roman was different from a lot of the grumpy doms in this series. Despite being Luke's captor, he is less grumpy and more of a calm dominant presence. I actually really liked him and it was a nice change of pace. Major daddy vibes from him (in a good way).

I also liked Luke who was sweet and just really wanted to be loved. He was cute.

Together they were a good balance and fit well together as a lightly Dom/sub sort of relationship. This was light on the BDSM -- mostly just about power play stuff rather than bondage and like that. I liked it though. Not too much, just enough.

Overall it was a good installment. I enjoyed it and I liked the characters and their chemistry together.

I really did myself a disservice reading this series out of order. I’m making up for it now but I should have gone back and skimmed book 5 because it had been so long ago I read it that I had no feelings toward Luke at all. Therefore it took me longer to get into this one because I didn’t care about either MC until the very end of part one. Strangely though part two made me kind of emotional because Luke was a mess and his inner thoughts made me all sad. All he wanted was someone to love him for who he truly was and put him first. I must have been in a mood because my eyes were all misty and not even a few chapters before I was a bit bored. It’s the AH effect I guess.

My biggest issue with this book is that mafia type themes just bore me so even though this had a lot of things I liked, I couldn’t give a shit about Roman’s business shit and it explains why I liked it so much more in part two. Overall I liked these two together though and their overwhelming neediness for each other.

My favourite so far! Roman and Luke are perfect. My love for grumpy Russian men that use endearments keeps growing. Who doesn't love when a cold, heartless, ruthless bastard helplessly falls in love? Kinky, hot and romantic. Great chemistry. Adored Luke (he really is such a kitten) and LOVED Roman. In some ways he's a lot like Rutledge from Just a Bit Twisted, only scarier and not emotionally stunted. Luke and Roman are probably my favorite couple in the series now. And the best thing is the bad guy stays bad, doesn't suddenly become a different person only because he's in love. LOVED it.
