More like a 3.5. Because while it’s occasionally thought that reading from the perspectives of psychopaths would be very interesting. If I’m honest this story right here would give you nightmares just thinking about the corruption of their minds alone. This novella is a bit too long in the middle for me especially when it gets to the gruesome details (more ambiguity would’ve really made this story a winner).

Eminently readible and engaging, 4 good stories told with affectless, pedestrian prose. No horror or fantasy, except maybe half a dozen pages at the end of the last story.

Wat een verzameling aan kortverhalen! Alle vier net wat anders, maar ook alle vier gewoon heel mooi in zijn eigen recht. Waar The Body gewoon veel karakter toont, toont Shawshank Redemption aan wat King wel niet kan doen behalve horror. Geweldige collectie!

god i love this book so much, the body and Shawshank redemption are my favorites in the book. Those are popular for a reason i really loved them a-lot, it’s really hard to stop reading once you start one of these, and you end up finishing one of the stories in a day. they are just short stories but they don’t feel that way at all, the story doesn’t feel rushed and it feels full but you end up finshing so fast
