I didn't have high hopes for this book...and therefore I wasn't disappointed.

If you don't know about Deuxmoi, it's an Instagram account that compiles blind items about celebs and posts all day every day. It's delightfully vapid and indulgent.

So this book is a HEAVILY REDACTED version of how the Instagram account came to be. And I'm pretty sure it was written by a 17-year-old.

Girl, I do. not. care. what clothing brand you're wearing so stop telling me every other sentence. Restaurant name-dropping, celeb "name-dropping," and zero substance.

This was The Devil Wears Prada fan fiction.

The story was pretty dumb. The writing was pretty dumb. This probably could have/should have been a Vanity Fair article.

I read it on the plane and then kind of wanted to leave it there.

Enjoyable? Sure. Silly? One hundred percent.

This is definitely a vacation read. It IS interesting to get some backstory on how Deuxmoi came to be, but there are some extremely cliched plot points and characters that make it feel a bit stale. Also the brand name drops thrown in every other paragraph nearly sent me over the edge.
