icarys's review
I am reading many other books, and this is also a reread from when a couple of these books originally came out. While I'm happy to reread them, my currently reading queue in reality is much larger than what I intend to focus on first in storygraph

Like Monty Python, George Carlin is spotty. Some of his material doesn't do much for me. But when he's good, he's so very very good that he still gets five stars. I laugh out loud more reading his material than anything else. And he's thoughtful and interesting. I miss him.

This is a very good collection of George Carlin's books. If you have not read his stuff before, you get a lot of bang in this book, so to speak. If you have read some of it before, it is nice to revisit. For example, the famous routine about stuff is here. That is one of my favorites. There is a lot of stuff you may have seen performed, so it is nice to go back and read it. For me, I had read two of the books in this collection, so it was revisiting. It was still a funny experience. Carlin is truly the thinking person's comedian, and he is certainly missed. This collection assures he will be remembered, and that his material will keep us laughing and thinking. I definitely recommend this one, and it will be a volume I will reread soon.

George carlin is at his best when he makes unexpected observations and can point to human hypocrisies but should lay off the polemics since its either just logically inconsistent or empirically flawed. I have to penalize the score because it distracts from the comedy
