I just finished this book and maybe I need to sit with it longer, but I am having a hard time forming my thoughts. It is written unlike any other I’ve read. The chapters are very short, which makes it easy to digest and easy to put down and pick back up. Some chapters are more like poetry, and the writing style is really beautiful but not over the top.  I found Korede and Ayoola’s relationship to be realistic and I thought the characters were well fleshed out. It was definitely a show-don’t-tell kind of story. I disagree that it is a comedy, not even a dark comedy.

Wow this book moved at breakneck speed I literally read it in one day. Absolutely gripping and so much of Korede's feelings towards her sister and other women in her life resonated with me so much. Absolutely loved it.

Braithwaite's writing has a dizzying momentum to it, leaving you breathless and exhilarated. Part of me wishes this novel were longer, but part of me knows that it wouldn't feel the same if it was. 

MY SISTER, THE SERIAL KILLER is fast-paced and hilariously, morbidly deadpan. Don't let the title fool you - Braithwaite's novel is not your average serial killer thriller. It is a study in sisterhood and family obligation, a reflection on the effects of abuse, resentment, and jealousy. It asks the reader to consider which crime is worse - to kill, or to enable a killer?
