I had no idea what to expect from this book before I started it and didn't even know remotely what it was about (yes the title tells you, but I thought maybe it was some kind of ruse or a metaphor I dunno shut up). The storytelling was direct but deliciously vivid and the characterisation of the relationship between two sisters was entirely believable. I loved that the plot didn't go where I expected and I loved how the whole book was perfectly garnished with details about food and smells and colours that brought everything to life.
Also, dead short. No faffing. Just quality stuff start to finish.
I normally prefer reading paper books to listening to audiobooks because I find I just don't listen properly to audio, and also I just love revelling in the silence of reading, but Weruche Opia did such a stellar job of narrating that I think it is far superior enjoyed as an audiobook.

this is a fantastic book written by an awesome nigerian novelist. her use of flashbacks and humor is really well done. this book is about the lengths we go to to protect our loved ones. the main character, Korede, starts the novel by cleaning up after her sister, Ayoola, who has just killed her third boyfriend. however, when Ayoola starts dating Korede's love interest, things get even messier.

this book had me laughing out loud and on the edge of my seat. however, i think Braithwaite tries to pack in some storylines without ever going anywhere with them. i really enjoyed this book, but wanted more follow-through. the characters are awesome, but i think the book could have been longer and more fleshed-out (surprisingly). still highly recommend!

Grief can be contagious and I have enough problems of my own.

This book is a twisted narrative on sisterhood that is equally disturbing and relatable to anyone with a sister.

As someone with a sister, this book reminds me of my relationship with her. Mind, she isn't a serial killer, but there's nothing stronger than a sisterly bond.

This book was fantastic. A little slow to begin with, but once I got into it, I read 70% of it and finished it on one day and didn't disappoint. I could imagine all of its characters strongly and could connect with them all.

Brilliant book, I'm glad that I picked it up. I disagree that the ending is disappointing, I think it's quite fitting.

I would have loved this in theory, but reading it I was very underwhelmed and it just couldn't hook me. I really appreciated the shorter length, though, and I think it would be perfect for the right reader.

This book is a good in-between book, but not something you would read over and over again

There were parts I really enjoyed, but in the end it was underwhelming. I don’t know what I wanted or expected to happen but it felt like he characters didn’t develop the plot was cut short.
Spoiler I’m bothered by Korede’s dismissal or Muhtar… maybe I misread but I felt at first as though they had strong connection… he helped her by being a person she could vent to and she helped him by caring for him and engaging with him to the point where he wakes up.. I guess I’m not supposed to be happy with her decisions, I was just unsatisfied
