I posted a more in depth review on goodreads, but I am obsessed with this book. I need everything about it.

I enjoyed the center characters especially with the found family aspect. I also appreciate that Kimberly is a strong MC and can hold her own. She does suffer from typical “I’m better off being by myself” energy but it doesn’t really amount to much because it gets quickly brushed off. Aaron is a delight and I do love his golden retriever energy. I’m looking forward to them becoming a couple in the future books.
The flaws of this book though are with then ending around the last 50 pages for me. I felt that it was rushed to the end with a bunch of info dumping about the brothers and with the enemies of the series. I feel like this will be better in the future books but it did bring down this book.
Also very picky and not too serious is I dislike the names of these groups… like the Family and the Legion. They just make me cringe a bit.
But I will definitely read the next book!

I thought this book was so fun! All of the characters were enjoyable and they had a good chemistry as a group and between one another. Aaron being a golden retriever male lead was such a good touch and having vampire frat boys really made this vampire story unique and fun!

Moderate: Self harm and Blood
It’s a vampire story so, blood is relevant, but there are times where it’s more intense and self created. Just a heads up.laurenevlyn's review against another edition

I would classify this book as more of a ya than new adult. While the characters are in college the writing makes it feel younger.
I'll start of with my issues that brought the rating down. The word choices initially were what pulled me out of the story, mentions of heads exiting the bus, magnetized feet, just turns of phrase that were a little more jarring than I'm sure was intended.
At times the characters made choices that didn't feel authentic. It wasn't like "oh this is obviously not a good choice but I see where they're coming from" but rather "why would anyone ever living or dead do this?". A lot of scenes felt confused as to what the characters were doing, having them do several things simultaneously.
Then there was the vampire lore. I know Aaron doesn't know much but it gets a little muddled what applies to these vampires or not. He has a pulse but he doesn't need to breathe? You can't injure cut him unless he's losing blood? But how did the brothers puncture their skin to begin with? I did find the big explanation in the church a little... dull. It drug on a bit.
The last thing was just they sometimes spoke in overly flowery ways, which isn't exactly for me.
All of that aside I did enjoy the book. It kept me engaged. I loved the brothers, I thought there were funny parts, there was mystery and suspense. I very much appreciated when I figured out the mystery the characters were close behind and it wasn't drug out for a long time.
It's a fun, mostly lighthearted, vampire read.
