Keep in mind I am rating this title as if it is a YA title.

Sometimes, vampire romances end up leaning heavy to one direction over the other. They end up being a vampire story with a little romance or a romance with some vampires. This Blood that Binds Us by @s.l.cokeley_writes_books finds the perfect balance. It also manages to be sugary sweet without killing the suspense.

PROS:
🩸The Calem brothers
🥾Solo hikes
🩸Sleepless nights
🥾Cliff diving
🩸Kimberly Burns
🥾Vampire bites

CONS:
🩸William
🥾Swim team douche bags
🩸The Family
🥾The fact the vampire lore isn’t explained in any way until right at the very end.
🩸This is definitely a YA novel, regardless of how it is marketed. The series itself might eventually reach a more mature footing, but it is a 5 as a YA. 2 or 3 if I am judging it as an adult fiction.

The writing seemed clunky, and it just didn't hold my attention.

I really didn't understand what was going on in this book, and for people who were supposed to be in college, the dialogue was at a 6th grade level. Am I going to read the second book though? Yes.
