Pleasantly surprising! This was cute and funny, especially for an unplanned pregnancy as the center of the story. I really liked the characters. And got through this pretty quickly.

Lizzie and Rake have an intensely sexy one-night stand, which up until this point is what Lizzie prefers. Her ADHD has trouble committing to one person, and having to explain her messes, her seemingly flighty personality and her endless mistakes is just too much to bother with, so she doesn't. That is, until she ends up accidentally pregnant. Lizzie can barely take care of herself (or hold down a job), and now she is seriously contemplating adding a baby to the mix. Her friends are skeptical, but when Rake finds out, he drops everything and moves to the US to help Lizzie co-parent. He is not going to miss the opportunity to be a father. Where Lizzie is a hot mess, Rake is clean cut and organized. Their relationship is the epitome of opposites attract, but it just works out.

Like I said. It was a funny, enjoyable little book, and I am glad I picked it up!

I don't usually like accidental pregnancy, but I'm finding that there are just some authors who can do it well. Mazey Eddings is one of those.

Lizzie and Rake were honestly really cute together. Lizzie's issues with her parents and how she grew up make her feel unloveable, but she's far from it. Rake has some of his own trauma he's dealing with. They live on different continents, but a chance encounter in a bar leads to a baby on the way. Rake's desire to be involved in such a way was seriously so fucking adorable. He had to sort some of his own things out, but it was done just so so well.

This is by far the cutest romance I think I've read all year, if not ever. The characters are just so sweet and relatable and I found myself loving them more with every turn of the page.

On a deeper note, as a person with suspected ADHD, I found myself relating to Lizzie's character in a way that I don't feel very often. As crazy as it may sound, she feels like a part of me was taken out of my soul and poured onto pieces of paper. The feelings of being all too much and somehow not enough, the way she talked about ruining every relationship she'd had when in reality, she didn't stay long enough for it to be ruined, it's all so me. And I cannot thank Mazey enough for spreading awareness of not only neurodivergency but these specific feelings as well.

The representation of ADHD in the book was so well done.

I enjoyed this book a lot. There were some part that I zoned out on or didn’t care for but I think overall the plot was well done. The MCs were both clearly their own people with fears and flaws that they grow from quite a bit by the end.

I don’t really care for “accidental baby” plots but this was one I would recommend.

I really loved this book. I normally am not a huge fan of pregnancy being the main issue or thing that brings the couple together in books but I have to say this is one of the best ones to date that I have read. I really liked that the pregnancy was just the thing that brought them in proximity but there was an amazing build, great boundaries and ADHD rep in this one. Highly recommend.
