Although this book is light on Poirot, his involvement is limited in the plot, I absolutely enjoyed it. The psychology of the post war trauma and how it impacts people differently is fascinating! So I didn’t mind at all as the story revealed it’s layers of complicated characters and motives and red herrings.

This is the only Poirot light book I’ve really enjoyed.

“The Hollow” was absolutely frustrating (and boring) to me because of the lack of Poirot, but not this one!

A great, intriguing plot from Christie. Poirot was  a bit more active than in other books. I suspected everyone, plenty of twists.
Read as part of my #ReadChristie2024 challenge.

I missed the connect between the title and the story. It was entertaining but parts didn’t hold my attention well. It was slow to get to the mystery and Poirot didn’t show up until well in the story.

I want to love Christie as she’s the Queen of Mystery, but I haven’t found one I love yet.
