Wow! I had never heard of this book or the author before picking up this book.
First off, the voice acting was so good. I love a different POV book & this did not disappoint! The book is mainly told from 2 perspectives- Danny & Jessie. Danny’s POV is told in 3rd person, Jessie’s in first. There is a chapter near the end that is from another POV. Really enjoyable listening.

The premise of the story is great, although I was hoping for some higher stakes. “Lost meets the Hunger Games”- I think NOT.. Most of the chats were very unlikeable and it did make it hard root for any of their outcomes.

I really don’t like how
Danny was portrayed as the “bad guy” when he was clearly mentally ill
it’s just a bit icky for me. That being said, I figures out the “twist” about half way through the book.

Overall, relatively enjoyable. It just didn’t live up to the tagline for me.

Lord of the Flies meets Agatha Christie.

When 6 teens go on a week long holiday to a private remote island, mystery awaits as their guide suddenly dies.

When each of their secret phobias start being played out, it becomes about survival when they can't get off the island.

Such a thrilling, un-put downable book, that leaves you holding your breath at everything that happens and makes you wonder how they will ever get off the island.
