I am a HUGE fan of “Furiously Happy” so I’ve had this little gem in my tbr pile for a while, and then I heard Jenny narrates it in audiobook form so I listened to it. It’s fun - if you enjoy a slice-of-life Jenny story then you will not be disappointed by this book. I didn’t laugh as much as a did with Furiously Happy, but there were some really thoughtful and poignant chapters that hit home just as hard - her letter to her insurance provider leaving one of the bigger impressions.

This book is just as enjoyable and funny as her first two, but boy was it also soooo sad at parts. Highly recommend the audiobook, read by Lawson herself. And to anyone who says our healthcare system is fine and doesn’t need reform, I request you read Chapter 9: An Open Letter to My Insurance Company, and then tell me the US HAS a really great system. A favorite quote from the book: “If simple words fixed terrible things, then terrible things wouldn’t exist.”

No one goes from gut-bustingly hilarious to gut-wrenchingly relatable like Jenny Lawson. And now my gut is all messed up so thanks a lot, Jenny. Do not read this book unless you're prepared to have total gut replacement surgery because yours got destroyed from all the laughing and crying. Still worth it, though.

Fav Essay: Six times I’ve Lost my Shoes While Wearing Them.

Sooo hilarious. I do want to also rereads it on audio. I was dying laughing at soooo many of these essays. I love how Jenny brings humor to the darkest moments as well as the most mundane activities. Every book she writes is better than the last . There were many times that I was laughing out loud as well as reading it outloud to Netty (my wife)

🌷Haiku Review 🌸
Laugh until you cry,
Jenny will have you rolling.
Dog condoms ‘nuff said 😂

Also you’ll just have to read it to believe me that dog condoms is not what you think they are .

This is an amazing book...both hilarious and heartbreaking.  The Open Letter to My Insurance Company was nearly broke me.  Jenny Lawson is a must-read for me.

 - I've been reading Jenny Lawson's writing for over a decade now. She's always been able to bounce between the absurd with the serious, and to find the absurdities within the serious things.
- She writes so clearly about what it's like to live with depression and anxiety, and how those conditions can so easily swallow your entire life - even when you're on the other side of it and are dealing with the financial and social fallout.
- Much less taxidermy in this book than previous books, just a heads up in case that's the reason you love her, lol.
