Good as always

Another great and cute book by Kasie West. I loved Abby's family dynamic and most of her friendship with Cooper, but i found that i didn't want them to end up together. It seemed like he didn't deserve her. I think I would have been equally or more happy if she'd ended up alone to find herself out something.

It was Kasie West, so naturally, it was cute as hell. I enjoyed it as I always enjoy her other books. Sometimes it's nice to escape to a world where the biggest problem in the world is being "too immature"... at seventeen. Yeah, you're immature. Get over it.

Also I'm still mad at Cooper for mixing up the dates like... wtf.

If I could give books negative stars, this would be right up there. Abby is not a good human being, let alone protagonist. Your employer said your art has no heart, not you. Your have no chemistry with Cooper, drop it. You hate on every single girl who makes eyes at Cooper. Cooper's not even a good catch.

Kasie West is no Sarah Dessen, please never compare the two.

This book was so stinkin' cute!

Abby Turner has big plans for the Summer. She is hoping that the museum where she works will display her art at the art show the museum they host annually. Unfortunately, the curator has told her that her art has no heart...and that is where "the list" comes in.

She has made a list of 10 things she wants to do over the summer, things she hopes will give her more life experience and help her imbue her art with the type of emotion Mr. Wallace is looking聽for. And she has requested the assistance of her best-friend and unrequited love, Cooper, to help.聽

But as she does the list, she starts to realize that maybe it isn't her art that needs changing..maybe it is herself

Guys....I cannot even impress upon you how shocked聽I was at how much I enjoyed this book.聽

So, we all know that Kasie West is the master of YA fluffy contemporaries, a genre that I have been slowly moving away from. However, I already had this on my shelves and, since I enjoyed By Your Side, I decided to go ahead and give it a shot and I am so glad that I did!聽

Kasie's books are compulsively readable. She creates engaging characters, witty banter, fun and cute plot-lines, and I just could not help but be sucked into this one. It was a sweet friendship-to-lover romance, and it also had underlying mental health representation as well

Despite the fact that I am moving on in my reading tastes, I think I will still pick up the rest of her stories, especially when I am in the mood for a light-hearted read.

I want to give this a 3.5 but since I only have the option between 3 and 4 its more of a 3. The story is entertaining, and I enjoyed reading about Abby's summer list of experiencing life events in order to give depth to her paintings. However the story is a light read, and part of me expected it to tackle some subjects a lot more than it did, such as mental illness and love. But in that sense it feels realistic for a 17 year old to handle. Its a prefect read if you're looking for a light read.
