3.5 ★★★.✰
A cute and wholesome love story that takes place on Valentine’s Day. Perfect for lovers of secret admirer notes, scavenger hunts, & rediscovering yourself. If you enjoyed To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before & While You Were Sleeping, this book gives off similar vibes that you’ll love. Perfect for middle schoolers & high schoolers.

I wish life was more like books and someone could write margin notes for you along the way.

Ella's life was picture perfect. She had a circle of close friends, a jam-packed social life, and an amazing boyfriend. But then something completely unexpected happened: a car accident after a Valentine's Day dance. When Ella woke up in the hospital, she couldn't remember the accident . . . or anything about the weeks before it, including the reason she broke up with her boyfriend.

Now, a year later, she begins receiving paper hearts from a mysterious admirer who seems to have the answers she craves. Ella is intrigued. The hearts contain clues to help Ella remember her life before...and take her on a journey she never imagined.

Need someone to check you out? And for the record, I mean the book, not you, so don’t get mad at me about that too.

Simple and sweet; just what I was wanting. There's nothing new to this recipe so if you're looking for a straight-forward and light romance then this is the book for you. The concept of the paper hearts giving back Ella lost time was a cute idea and I enjoyed watching it unfold. While I was surprised at who was behind the hearts, nothing else was a shocker. I was content to be along for the ride.

Don’t be so concerned with your past and your future that you forget how utterly incredible you are right now.

I only had one issue at the end,
Spoilerthe likelihood of nobody spilling the beans to Ella that she switched friend groups and boyfriends is slim-to-none...and I don't understand why they wouldn't tell her even if they didn't think she'd believe them anyway? I get wanting to regrow the relationships organically but that doesn't mean you can't explain and then let it happen or not from there???
but even if you don't look too closely at it I did like the idea that came from it
Spoilerthat some connections on a visceral level don't change even if the experiences themselves do
.

Recommended for teens of the light romance lover club.
