I shamefully picked up this book because the cover. *sigh* I wanted to like this book but it was incredibly slow. For a character driven book, I wished there was more development of the main two characters. The book’s description also makes it seem as if it will talk about the growth of the two main male characters… in reality it focused on only one. Kind of disappointing overall. Interesting concept though- teacher/ student relationship and the obsession to be academically gifted to the point of losing one’s life in the process.
