In the town of Chelm, were it is fabled to reside fool after fool, yet boast of their superior intellect (sounds like D.C.) a poorer than most family ponders the forthcoming Shavuot celebration and its tradition of eating blintzes. Unable to afford the ingredients, due to their abundance of children and menial employment, they plan to drop one coin, daily, into an old trunk until the holiday, assuming they would then have enough for the treat.

What ensues is a comedy of errors that culminates with their rabbi adding 3 more commandments to the original 12.

Brightly illustrated by Susan Batori, it adds a craft at the end for children to make for their own celebration.
