This is my second manga and I did enjoy it, it’s easy to get through with nice artwork, an engaging plot and nuanced intriguing characters that makes you read on. The story follows the main character Ken Kaneki who gets asked out on a date by his crush Rize but it turns out all she’s after is his body… eating it! But an accident happens and Kaneki is saved, albeit by doctors transplanting some of Rize’s organs into him which turns him into a half-human-half-ghoul and we follow his coming to terms with this, understanding the ghoul lifestyle, meeting others and yh other stuff that I don’t want to spoil. It’s mostly good, but I would say that some of the artwork is a bit difficult to fully grasp what is happening and Yhh. The characters are okay, you are certainly intrigued by them but I wouldn’t exactly say they are loveable - there is also some misogynistic/objectifying aspects which I was a bit ‘ehh’ on and also body horror but this is in the nature of a manga of this type - but overall they’re alright. I am interested in reading the following volume(s) if I com across them in a charity shop but I don’t exactly feel a desire to continue the story as I’m just not that personally attached or like this sort of genre too much. But I would recommend and in all I did enjoy reading it.
