This was a really fun read recommended by[author:Katie Lumsden|21944748] on her channel, Books and Things. I have never enjoyed reading plays and can't say that I remember ever actually finishing one all the way through, besides possibly The Miracle Worker in the 8th grade. However, committing to stretch myself, I purchased this copy on eBay and read it over the weekend while visiting Arizona. It was a funny and fun story that I'd love to see on stage one day. Maybe I'll read more plays after all!

A local theatre group is planning to put this play on later this year and I decided to check it out ahead of time. Charley's Aunt is a 19th Century farce about two young men at university who invite their sweethearts to tea to meet the aunt of one of them, but with the actual intent of proposing to them.
When the aunt send a message that she will not be coming after all they get one of their friends to pretend to be the aunt so that the party will be appropriately chaperoned. Various alarums and excursions, mistaken identities and confusions ufold before coming to a satisfactory ending for all concerned.

I read the audiobook version of the playLibrivox which I found to be well produced on the whole.
