This was a really sick book.  I can't even. I would say this is dark horror for more tenured horror readers for sure. 
You read this and you can't help but wonder if there really is people like this out there.
If you want to test your limits by all means !!! Dive in !!! :)

Absolutely horrifying - NOT for the weak of heart, I had to walk away several times and finished within 3 days so I could never have to read this again. Ironic storyline, but terrifying details.

I understand that this book is supposed to be extreme horror. Truly, I know what I signed up for, but necrophilia and cannibalism aside the writing is poor.  The story line was very predicable. It didn't feel like the gore and shocking moments actually contributed to advancing the story or making the story in depth in any way. The actually plot and the story were very predictable. Also having difficulty deciphering if the author was trying to make the main character pretentious or if the author is just pretentious. Making references of Hemingway and Tolstoy and Chekhov for seemingly no reason? Other than to just appear cultured or cool. IDK. Maybe I'm the problem, but I hated this book.

this is just like. shock factor porn for edgy incels. i wanted it to be more because i’m so desensitised and want something that will make me recoil and uncomfortable, and while the subject matter itself is enough to do that the writing is just so.. cringey? (“so I figured I’d bite the bullet and just do it, Nike-style” LIKE CMON) and i hate that word. i don’t know. this could have been so fucked up and engaging but instead it was just fucked up and embarrassing. so many of the positive reviews for this book stem from ‘well it’s fucked up and appalling because that’s the point!’ yes we know, but that doesn’t mean we don’t also deserve good writing and an actual plot over just the same gore porn for however many pages. extreme horror can be good! this is unfortunately not an example of that.

Maybe I'm a generous reader, but this book really isn't like any that I've ever even heard of.

It's gross, appaling, and utterly horrific.

Trigger warnings for this book should be heavily looked upon, which I'm adding ones that are appropriate.

 I've seen many reviews saying they couldn't finish it, which I can understand to the fullest. The characters are iredeemable, they're full of flaws, if you can even consider it that, and are aware of their wrongdoings to the fullest. You can consider the main character cringy and an edgelord, or you may not.

I had to put this book down for a break and a breather multiple times, I couldn't stomach all of it at once.

But I think this book is supposed to be edgy and gross and make it disgust people, and it does the job.

It's a horrific book with a different type of  presentation. Kudos to Morrison for writing it, and for everyone who reads it.
