This book has been sitting on my TBR shelves since I was about 10, and I’m so glad I picked it up because this was such a fun book! The stories read like fables, and I loved the portrayal of the cats as tricky, clever little guys. With delightful illustrations, this is a must-read for cat friends!

I was obsessed with this fascinating compilation of short stories when I was in third grade, which amazes me now, because the vocabulary is so rich, I wonder how I comprehended the stories. Each story is hysterical and terribly clever, as Lloyd Alexander shows his genius and wit and outwitting!

Cats, personified cats, Victorian time period....I should have loved this collection. I'm not sure what it was, but I struggled to get through this collection and almost DNFed at multiple points. This one will be traded back to my local used bookstore

These stories, with their warmth, charm, and witty patter, remind me of why I fell in love with Lloyd Alexander's books as a kid. Delightful. Also a hit with the 8-year-old crowd.

Very nice fairytales, quite on par with Andersen, Wilde, Hauff, Hoffmann and Travers. :-)

Another enjoyable book from [a:Lloyd Alexander|8924|Lloyd Alexander|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1200328980p2/8924.jpg]. A collection of short stories that center around cats. Cute and a fun read for all ages.
