Christmas Bliss was magical, and will get you into the Christmas Holiday spirit Savannah style! It was a delight to catchup with old friends from Mary Kay’s earlier books which I loved (read them all)! I especially loved Savannah Breeze and loved hearing from BeBe/Harry now that she is pregnant, Weezie/Daniel (and her NY fiasco), and of course James/Jonathan, Weezie’s parents, and of course my favorite gay couple with style and flair Cookie/Manny!

As usual, this group is always getting in to some mischief, and cannot have a wedding without all the gang getting involved (can just see Weezie in NY going through junk and flea market shops).

Full of sass and humor - lots of laughs and please oh, please, Mary Kay – continue with these characters as they want them to end. I always love the way the deck the halls! It makes you want to be there to join in the festivities!

Highly recommend as a standalone; however, for those of us who are familiar with all the players – it is even better!

This was a heartwarming holiday story featuring two modern Southern best friends as they prepare for a couple of momentous occasions leading up to Christmas: one is getting married and the other is having her first baby. Perfect for fans of Kristy Woodsen Harvey’s Peachtree Bluff series. Set in Savannah and part of a series, this worked as a standalone and was great on audio although it did get a little confusing which chapters were which friend with only one narrator. Overall I really enjoyed the vintage Christmas décor inspired Wedding theme, the snowed in at the Plaza plot twist and the lovely friendship between the two women. A feel-good story sure to give you all the feels over the holidays.

Christmas Bliss by Mary kay Andrews
The wedding is planned for Christmas eve. Eloise (wezzie) is having her mother, Marion Foley help her with the dress. redoing one that was her grandmothers.
Daniel works for a restaurant. he's a guest chef, design a menu and run the kitchen for a month at a time. Wezzie had no idea the owner of the place was a female and the photo she sees on the bulletin board throws her off guard.
Wezzie travels around town to set up the food, flowers, the event and she thinks there will be surprises on the day of the wedding.
It was only to be a small family gathering but the others make it sound like a major extravaganza. Love the yard and estate sales she attends and her concept of buy and sell with a profit.
in alternating chapters Beebe has her own story-she is 8 months pregnant, runs a B&B and an old woman is in town about her divorce from Richard who then went to jail 6 years earlier.
Love her nautical Christmas tree. She confides in Weezie when she notices her swollen ankles.
Love hearing of their drama and how Beebe talks Weezie into going to NY to see what's going on.
Loved all the descriptive travel details around the holidays and all the others involved in the wedding and birth.
Weezie and Daniel have a huge decision to make when Carlita asks him to return to NY to run her restaurant.

I've read some books by Andrews and enjoyed them but unsurprisingly this one lacked some substance. I guess it is just a companion book to some other books of hers but this one was very lackluster. A lot of stuff didn't make sense, like the age of the main character's parents and how one of them seemed sick but nothing came of it. Also I was disappointed to see how much the author and characters blew off New York City for a small southern town. Not recommended as a stand aloe book.

I enjoyed seeing Weezie’s story come to an end, and it was a wonderful ending. I was a little disappointed in Weezie’s actions in New York, the cab driver at the airport, etc. but it was sweet nonetheless when she wanted to see Daniel. I wish there was a 5th book to see the end of BeBe’s story too. Another quick Christmas read!

Sweet story, cute and likable characters, but story was a little long for the story being told.

I've never read Mary Kay Andrews' before, and really have no desire to read her work again if this is an indication of her writing style. It was all just a mess thrown together and when things started to sort out, it was a rush job to finish it. It's definitely not my cup of tea.

BeBe and Weezie are adorable modern takes on the Southern woman. Weezie just wants an intimate wedding at home and BeBe can't stand baby showers, even if they're thrown in her honor. It's refreshing to see such a close and supportive friendship and also have both of the main characters happy in love. A light and uplifting part of a series and I wasn't lost having not read any of the others. With plenty of sass and charm, Christmas Bliss was a pleasure.
