Okay, I love this series. And I've already said it, but the characters are so wonderful and feel like real people, which makes these really quick reads for me. There are a few bits in each story that don't unfold the way I might have hoped, but I still ended up loving each story arc in the end. I have already gone back and reread bits of the earlier books, because I just can't get enough of the characters. ANYWAY. New favorite author acquired, I guess?

My favorite of the Ravenswood series. I can't wait to read this again. I really appreciate the demisexual rep here. I want more!

personally, i found myself slightly underwhelmed with that kind of guy.

firstly, i prefer reading romance books where i see the relationship created and developed myself. in that kind of guy, the relationship was well established. secondly, due to the page length and fast paced nature of this book, the bond between the fmc and mmc from friends to lovers felt a little too rushed for my liking.

now that being said, that doesn't mean i didn't like aspects of this book. i liked that the mmc is demisexual. i hardly see this normalized and explored in literature, so that was a nice addition to this book. i liked the fmc being older and talia hibbert explores the older woman/younger man dynamic appropriately.

overall, if the book was longer, i could see the relationship developing more organically and liking this book more.

I have just discovered Tahlia Hibbert and have devoured this series in days. Honestly can’t get enough of her writing. So impressed with her character diversity and having main characters with autism and neurodivergence.
I will be a avid reader of hers going forward.
Also the spice… OMG *drools* she gets it!! Especially in this book!

So, I read this because it had demi-sexual MC rep.

I really struggled with a rating for this book because it was a well-written exploration of intimacy and attraction between an allosexual woman and a demi-sexual man, but it felt like that was all it was. The little plot there was outside their relationship was short, simple, and easily predictable - which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I felt like it had the potential to be something more complex, detailed, and in-depth.

For me this was a 2.5/2.75.
