Touching and raunchy, with some lovely insights into late 19th century sapphics. This book was an awakening for a lot of girls I knew when it came out as and I can see why. I loved reading about Nan's life!

This was good and overall engaging if a little drawn out in some parts, but at the end I felt it was worth the length of the book because we saw a lot of Nancy’s growth and life up until the ending point.

if therapy were both around & helpful in the 1890s i'd say nancy needs it. a beautiful story with a beautiful, hopeful ending

LOVED this book. loved most of the characters, loved the setting and atmosphere, just loved being immersed in this world. it’s in the longer side and there were times it almost dragged for me but it always found a way to keep me hooked.
