I’m pretty disappointed. It read more like a horror story than a romance. The sheer volume of deception makes me hard to believe that any of the couples are healthy.

I’ll give it a one rating just because the cover is absolutely gorgeous … shame the book just wasn’t it :/

kissing behind a masjid ?? LIKE WHAT?? like idc even if there was a damn forest or whatever … just found it disrespectful!! the representation was not it! the book was just so messy didn’t like kiran and I couldn’t care about deen either.

For the nth time I learn that buying a book based on its pretty cover is a mistake. I absolutely hated Kiran throughout the entirety of the book. Deen was constantly being made out to be the bad guy more so than Kiran who messed everything up out of selfishness

3.5 I feel bad for Kiran, no one in her family actually tried to heal from her mother's death. And they threw themselves into situations that caused a reaction out of Kiran, which I do not blame her for. I would have done the same to find the truth if people are supposed to be my family. And Deen is too selfish to be redeeming.

I wasn't sure what kind of roller coaster of angst was going to be in the story in the beginning, but man it was totally worth it. As a younger sister, I understood some of where Kiran was coming from but there were many times I wanted to scream at Kiran and Deen.
The feelings that Kiran had are so relatable even if she takes things to the extreme. Definitely cried in a few parts.

Ok overall this was alright but this was a big offender in terms of my pet peeve in books which is when a character in a first person novel explains cultural foods/customs in the book. Example: "we ate gulab jamun, which is balls made of milk solids in rose syrup" - who is he talking to?? himself??? If I didn't know what gulab jamun was and wanted to I would look it up, the explanations take you out of the book completely. Also the main characters are kind of awful but that isn't something that really turns me off of a book. I didn’t have an awful time reading it but I would never recommend it to someone.

this is a kiran hate account. kiran and deen were cute but their relationship should’ve been fleshed out more - the amount of plot lines within the novel meant that the minor ones became mangled, unfinished, or never addressed; and as a result of this, many plot lines felt rushed. also kiran was literally just a carbon copy of the author.

However;  deen <33333
