Overall this was a good read, but it was SO LONG! It is not the it necessarily dragged on, just took a long time to get through. The narration had a habit of starting a story, then recollecting a memory, and then returning to the present story. This isn't necessarily bad, just took some getting used to!
Also, please check CWs if you might have triggers for violence!
I'm not going to lie, I was REALLY taken aback when Anastasia went back in time. I had to stop reading for a bit before coming back to it because it just felt so out of left field. In the end, I think it worked out, but it was so jarring when that happened for me!
Also, please check CWs if you might have triggers for violence!
Graphic: Gore, Violence, Blood, Colonisation, and War
Moderate: Sexual content
Minor: Sexual violence
