I don't think my admiration for Atwater-Rhodes' work will ever end. Despite the main characters being young, they aren't deluded and cliche like in every other young adult novel these days. The characters, plot, and descriptors are all rich yet not overdone. This was a much appreciated breath of fresh air and I've surely been reminded what a real novel is.

I have read a good majority of Amelia’s work, including the prequel to this novel, Shattered Mirror. When I found out that All Just Glass was to be the companion novel to it, I was very excited to read it, as I enjoyed reading her other books and was eager to see where the story with Sarah went. But, I was disappointed.

All Just Glass was, in my opinion, very poorly thought out. The entire novel is told in only 24 hours, with a time stamp at the beginning of each chapter to let you know how much time has elapsed. This made the entire novel very unbelievable for me, as we were expected to believe that all of that happened in only one day. I think, for me, that was what ruined the book. If the events had been spaced out over a few weeks, the novel would have been infinitely better.

The characters seemed dry in this book, as opposed to Shattered Mirror where they were more vibrant and interesting. The point of view switched so many times that it was hard to get connected to any one character.

On the whole, I was very disappointed with All Just Glass. But, I’m not giving up on Amelia and her work. I know she can do so much better than this! I give this novel 1.5 out of 5 stars.

Okay, so I was half way through the first chapter before I realized that All Just Glass was the sequel to Shattered Mirror. Okay now, you can stop looking at me like that. It's been awhile since I've read it, sheesh. ;)

The story is told from a few POVs so sometimes it gets confusing, so pay attention! And honestly, I was reminded of Damon and Stefan Salvatore when I was reading about Nikolas and Kristopher, but that's actually a good thing.

Did I really just read this book in one day?

This book was quite interesting. I enjoyed seeing behind the lines of the supposedly perfect vampire hunters, although I find it a little hard to grasp that it all happened within a 24-hour period. I did tire of the author's long-winded way of moving the story along; I'd forgotten about her writing style in the nearly ten years since I've read her original books (I was in 8th grade when I picked up her first one). But despite all of that, I was determined to read it and figure out what the conclusion was.

Also, I think rereading Shattered Mirror before diving into this one would have been better for me. I just now realized the connection between the titles.

It was good to see these characters again, and understand them a bit better. I do see an improvement in Amelia's writing too. This story gave us more closure on the characters. Overall I enjoyed the story, especially getting snippets of pov's from other characters we've met in the previous book.

Sarah was turned into a vampire by the boy she thought she loved and now her sister Adianna is given the job to kill her from their Mother Dominique. Will Adia have the fortitude/strength to actually follow her mother’s directive/order and do the distasteful deed? Because after all, she’s from the Vida family and that’s what they do, right? Kill vampires? This volume continues the saga of the Vida family, vampire hunters, in the Shadow of Dark series.
