The style took some getting used to, but Baby Anne is all melodrama and pure-heart enthusiasm it's a joy to behold. I love the child and the young girl and every step inbetween.

This book will forever hold a special place in my heart. I listened to the audio book on repeat as a kid, and loved the escape it gave me.
I just finished my reread of it as an adult, and while it is not at the same level as a lot of other books out there, it is still wonderfully enjoyable. Anne is described as very talkative, and boy does she really talk. But the way her imagination works is so beautiful to witness.

Dear old world, you are very lovely and I am glad to be alive in you.
Oh, Anne Shirley, you icon of hope and light. What a beautiful book this was, with a truly gorgeous story that struck me right in the heart. Full of whimsy and wonder, it almost felt like a dream with its vivid, breathtaking scenery, which quickly transported me to the village of Avonlea with rainbow-hued flowers, babbling brooks, and glowing lakes. I was so immersed in this place of joy that I had to remember where I was when I closed the page. The descriptions were almost so wonderous that I struggled to conjure them as real scenes.
Just as funny as it is dreamy, this was a little heartwarming adventure with endearing characters and a simple story that sucked me right in. I adored Anne with her head in the stars and her imagination bursting at the seams. She was an endearing, relatable character, the kind of person I wish I could meet. I wish I had read this classic when I was younger, I think I would have developed a lifelong love for Anne of Green Gables. With her optimism, imagination, and her refusal to make the little, simple things seem dull, she was such a joy to read. I don't believe I've ever encountered a character like her.
Kindred spirits are no so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.
I laughed aloud at her antics and almost everything that spilled from her mouth. Anne quite literally had no chill that little chatterbox. And she remains right about so many things, sometimes we should rename places to names that are more fun, and sometimes we should imagine there is something greater waiting for us and sometimes we have to lay in the grass and stare up at the clouds. Why should we not?
I was so connected with her that I felt the same pain as Matthew and Marilla when she was growing up. I too mourned the little girl she had been, and what a thing that is for I felt like I really knew her, this wild child with red hair and freckles. She is my role model. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The characters were all memorable and lovely, with the perfect blend of the real and the fantastical (just a smidge). From the Cuthberts, Gilbert, Diana, and Ms. Lynde, to Josie, Jane, and Ruby. I loved the dialogue and the way this was written and I loved the natural evolution of the characters and the story. I cried my eyes out toward the end when I had to say goodbye for I truly felt like a villager in quaint old Avonlea.
What more can I say, other than sometimes you need a little bit of whimsy to soften your heart? The world is not always so good but there is always beauty all around you if you dare to open your eyes. I needed this book right now and I am very glad I read it.
