Quite a refreshingly level headed approach to the subject of British Leyland and the British car industry.

Sidestepping the usual cliche's levelled at BL tin and taking a critical but fair appraisal of its car range this goes some way to highlighting how the various models led to BL's initial growth, their revolutionary designs, misjudgements and sorry stagnation.

Being released in 1980 this book leaves the story with hope of the Metro regaining some of the companies market share after the shutting of Abingdon factory and therefore does not cover the final sorry chapter.

Certainly worth it for the fairhanded approach to the cars and if you see a copy going cheap pick it up! It's never been (and probably never will be) reissued and copies currently go for approx £100 on fleaBay.
