This book made me cry more than any other novel ever has. The style of writing was beautiful, the characters felt real. It made me feel seen. One of my new all time favorite books.

Akemi Dawn Bowman has done it again. This was truly wonderful. It was painful, beautifully written, emotional rollercoaster from start to finish.

I adored the cast of characters and the relationships they all experienced with each other. I especially enjoyed Rumi and George's relationship. It was so special and not a relationship dynamic I've come across before.

I loved that Rumi was allowed to be angry as she processed and lived through her grief and pain. I so appreciated that those around her respected her anger and whilst she wasn't allowed to get away with causing pain to others, people were understanding and stood by her throughout her frustration and depressive periods. I also thought her journey in starting to discover and come to terms with her sexuality was wonderful. I've rarely come across questioning LGBTQIA+ rep, let alone questioning aroace rep, so this was incredibly refreshing to read.

Once again, Akemi Dawn Bowman has written a book I happily devoured in two sittings (and it would have been one sitting, if my dog hadn't guilted me into taking her for a walk...) It tugged on all my heart strings and her beautiful, easy flowing writing style made for an incredibly enjoyable reading experience.

this was definitely a “right time, right place” kind of book, everything in it resonated so much with me, especially the questioning about being aroace and feeling like you have to know everything about yourself right away, i’ll be thinking about this book for a long long time
