Black gets his HEA!!

I've left this as my last book in the series because Black was the irresistible one that always got to me of all the Lucas clan. It was everything and more you can expect from Jordan Marie and this crazy lovable family she created!
It was full of cheeky banter, it was comical and laced with the usual family humour, and of course the chemistry between Black and Addie is so electric! The psycho ex and dog drama really brings it all home. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Black Lucas is back in his home town of Mason after his previous girlfriend destroyed his life. He just wants to move on, and start fresh. And get away from crazy women. Adelle Harrington literally crashes into his life, and turns it on it's axis. She's stubborn, sassy, and opinionated- telling Black exactly what's on her mind. She is also the mayor's daughter. So she should be off limits. When Black's past comes back to haunt him, will Adelle get caught in the crossfire?

First, I haven't read the other Lucas Brothers books before this one. It IS a standalone, but I did miss some information from the Lucas family without having read the other books. But I loved this cover, and the blurb pulled me in.

The Lucas family is definitely different- the boys are all named after colors (Black, White, Grey, Blue, Cyan, & Green) and the girls are all named after flowers (Petal, marigold, CC?). Not having read the previous books I was not prepared for their names... Or their mom.

Both Black and Adelle had hot & cold moments. And Black's ex was full blown crazy and bled into his current life.

Black and Adelle's relationship moved quickly. (When it was hot, when it was cold it stopped).

But it was a good read. Adelle brought so much sass, and gave it to Black when he deserved it. Black was bone headed at times, and needed a swift kick in the rear. Overall I give the story 4⭐ out of 5⭐. I stayed up until 2am to finish the book.

What?!

Chapter 18 and this is a goner! The synopsis was a lot more interesting than the story itself, so I'm slightly disappointed that this was a let down.

Black Lucas has just moved back to town and left his job as a police detective and has become a local deputy to escape his crazy ex-girlfriend, Linda. He has had to move back in with his mom until he can find a new place to live.

Adelle Harrington is the daughter of the Mayor and is ready to make her own mark on the world after coming home from Paris where she was studying.

When a case of mistaken identity and a few little secrets come into play will Black and Adelle be able to expand on their chemistry? Can Adelle and Black overcome their pasts to make something of a future together?

Every time I get a book by this author I jump for joy as I know it will be HOT, full of laughs and twists to keep me wondering what is going to happen next!

I loved the mix up right from the beginning and I was laughing as I knew something was going to happen when some of the truth came out and the scene at the Sheriff Department did not disappoint at all!! Loved it!!

There were so many scenes I loved but what happened in the car was so awesome since it couldn't happen anywhere else! Although I must admit I was very sad for what happened after.

I had my suspicions about one of Adelle's friends and I was right! I liked how everything went down with that and I was not disappointed in the least!

The chemistry between Adelle and Black was through the roof and I loved how they both pushed each other's buttons! The scene in front of Adelle's house was epic and I thought it was great how the neighbors got involved. What came next was even better and it made me laugh so hard when they got stuck and then how starstruck Adelle became!

The end was so awesome with the restaurant and I really liked at the very end how everyone came together to help Adella. I loved what Adelle did for Black with Kong!

Such a great series and I love this family!!

will wait 1,000 years for a new Jordan Marie, okay not that many years but I will wait along time. She is such an amazing author. I feel in love with her MC world so when she switched to romantic comedy I jumped at that. I mean who doesnt love a good Rom Com. Jordan's writing is so unique. There isn't any parts where you feel like it should have ended or it becomes dead air and just boring. It plays out like a movie and I definitely know who would play Black and who would play Addie.
Black is such a manly man. He came back home to get his life on track and it was going great till Addie crashed into his life. She is the woman that is off limits. He cant mess up his life not his career again. But what can you do when fate and your heart has other plans.
I would be remiss if I didn't talk about that funny Ida Sue. She is Black's momma and the funniest women I have read about.
This book is a beautiful story. I laughed, I got worried, I got emotional, i giggled, and i feel in love with Lucas Brothers all over again.
By the way if you haven't read the other book what are yoi waiting for. You can read as a standalone I guess if you want to but hello why would you.
One last thing, let's all admire this beautiful cover. Oh la la

T. W for stalking and assault.

HOLY CRAP. I've loved every installment in the Lucas Brothers series so far. The crayon boys and flower girls make my heart happy and a little jealous. I'm glad to see Black getting his happy ending. I hope there's more coming in this series. I need Blue. I wanna know what his deal is.

I haven't read any of the other books in the Lucas Brothers series, but after reading about Black and his brothers and their mother, Ida Sue, I'm definitely going back for more. Black had been burned badly by a past relationship and the negativity of that bled into the new life he was trying to build when he moved back home. He went from detective to deputy because of a vindictive ex, his credit was shot, and he would never trust another woman again. The joke was on him because between a bee and a lawnmower, his life would never be the same. He didn't anticipate someone like Addie crashing into his life creating chaos and showing him what love really was.

The characters were fun, especially Black's mom. That lady was a hoot! Addie was a bit over-the-top and too immature at times, but overall she was almost as likeable as Black was. This story was funny and it was sexy and it definitely made me want more of the Lucas family.
