WOW. Just..WOW. This book was amazing! Sometimes sequels never live up to the first one but Fighting Shadows..wow!! I can't decide if I like this one more than the first one. Flint, Flint, Flint. Boy were you an asshole at 19! He said some awful things that Ash carried throughout her life. And ASH! I loved her! She was such a fun loving girl despite her cruel upbringing. She had an innocence despite what her father made her do. This book was full of angst that made me clutching my heart! I had serious chest pains from this couple!
I love Quarry but I don't know if I like the set up of that one..I'm pretty sure his girl is Liv which I'm excited for but we'll see what Ms. Martinez does. I have complete faith in her! :)

Well, I was really liking the first half of this book. Ash and Flint were super sweet together and I enjoyed watching their relationship blossom. Their characters had great backstories, and I felt connected to them.
Then it all kind of went to shit. I was particularly annoyed by a lot of the overblown angst and the loss of so much time and then them still being "in love". No. I'm sorry, but two people cannot go without seeing or hearing from each for that length of time, and then just continue on as if no more than a couple days have passed.
I really like Quarry as a character, so I will definitely be reading the third book in this series, but I do hope its better than this one. Although, this series seems to be super angsty so far, which I really tend to dislike in general.

Tuhle knížku mám moc ráda. Uvěřitelné, není to přeslazené a hlavní hrdinové - jeden se s nimi opravdu nenudí. A smích ke knížkám patří.

The MMC was such an asshole and they way he treated his family was awful and the FMC was so childish it just made me uncomfortable to think of them as a couple
