My only complaint about comics is that I wish they were longer.

I really loved the entire idea behind this graphic novel. I loved the art and the story, but I did seem to have trouble getting through it. The story just seemed slow to me for some reason. I am excited for more volumes though!

4.5 stars. I love the concept of this so much, the art is good, and the characters are so enticing that I'm willing to forgive the plot feeling a bit muddled— hoping it will flesh out some and we'll see things make more sense in the next volume.

Um, this was amazing. I can tell this is going to be a series that I can really get into.

The premise is super cool and also slightly terrifying- it's a world where women who don't comply (women who are too skinny or too fat or too loud or too anything really) are sent to a prison planet lovingly called Bitch Planet. This first volume introduces us to some of the women living on Bitch Planet and the scary political group running the whole show. The plot wasn't exactly thrilling in the first volume but I got the impression that this was more of a set up to future awesomeness. And I still fully loved this story- mostly because I'm a non-compliant gal too.

A fantastic graphic novel about strong women fighting those trying to suppress them.

Really more of a 2.5 in terms of enjoyment but I think the series has some potential. Cool art and storytelling. My main problem is that it ends in the middle of the story so I can't say more about how it develops themes. As it is, there's not much beyond the stuff you've come to expect outta dystopian scifi prison sports patriarchy death games or whatever. So don't read this unless you're ready to read the next part too!

It took me a cool minute to figure out the plot of this series, but now that I'm on the same page I love it! I especially loved the backstory issue about Penny, and really hope they have more as the series continues. Overall the violence, jokes, and weird/horrifying dystopian society had me, and I can't wait for the next volume of this trippy story.
