DNF
I usually like small town romance. Recently I enjoyed Securing Zoey by Susan Strokes. I was looking forward with The Country Guesthouse. At about 60%, I give up. What does not work for me is the pace of the story. It is so dragging. Too slow and too boring. I even fall asleep listening to the audiobook.
I hate to shelved book under DNF. Only with a book that is really bad or does not fit my taste, I have to shelved it with DNF.

The premise is good. The execution? Not so much.
I couldn’t read more than 5 pages at a time - the dialogue felt forced, the writing was lifeless and dull. I thought after the first bit of repetition, it might pick up (because you have to explain your life story to all the locals???).
I couldn’t force myself to finish the book, and stopped a third of the way through. But by page 111, there should be something making you want to finish reading.

Another Robyn Carr win, like how do these keep getting better!! I call her writing smooth like butter as this new book is just so good! I love that we are back in Sullivan's Crossing with some of the normal characters! You will just fall in in love with Noah- he is just an amazing little boy and then also Hannah and Owen! This story might bring tears as I was so happy they got the Happy Ending! Some twists and turns that you think you know what is going to happen but never do. This is another great book that can be read standalone but just read the other books beforehand in the series and you will love the place and other side characters even more!
Can't wait to see what Carr does next!
Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

I LOVED this one. Easy 5 stars and absolutely makes the entire series worth reading. Wonderful characters...I fell completely in love with every character here. So wonderful how everything came together in this book with new AND existing characters.

The romance is kinda meh. No real conflict really. They like each other they get together.
The plot that surrounds them is what makes the book really interesting, largely driven by the custody of one little boy.
As usual Therese Plummer's narration is superb.
