I was in the comic book shop every weekend as a small kid, tagging along with my brother. I always try and track down graphic novels, and am a voracious reader... so a half-novel/half-graphic novel? Sign me up!

Chris Club is one weird private eye - living in a world where one day, every person around the world experiences simultaneous existential dread and fear. Within hours of this unexplainable moment of terror a mysterious super-powered being appears in Centro City and life hasn't been the same since. Weird comic book style 'rules' apply to the hero known only as 'Blue': he's basically never seen in daylight, has no reflection, he can fly, is undetectable by radar - oh, and if he has to swing a punch, he'll literally smash your head off.

Chris has been tasked by terrifying business woman Erika Fostra to unmask Blue, sending Chris down the rabbithole into the comic world for leads because Blue's mere existence defies all logic.

Some great world-building here and excellent illustrations along with an interesting cast of characters and a seriously flawed male lead (I have SO many questions...) along with a mystery that starts to unravel with a great twist by the end. The first half of issue one ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'm sad to have to wait til book two arrives, but I'm really looking forward to it!

Note: this comic book contains very sensitive content and is not suitable for kids. (In my opinion)
