What a story. I didn’t know much about her life if I’m being honest, and I think that was by her design. But I was very impressed with the way in which she gets vulnerable and lets us see who she is and how she got there.
Two lines from the book that I loved and will continue to think about:
1. “We blame our lovers and not our views of love” and OOF that one is hurtful but in a good way like a mirror.
2. “What got me through that time was the women in my life” - the way in which she discusses and promotes the importance of female friendship cannot be overstated. So many powerful examples of what that looks like and also how tender that love truly is.
In the end, it has a similar note to Jeanette McCurdy’s book - and it’s so beautifully executed. Brava, Minka. 🥹❤️😭
