This was a great retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
Bryony is just trying to get home when a storm hits and threatens to freeze her to death. Against her better judgement, and well due to a lack of alternatives, she seeks temporary shelter at a seemingly abandoned castle and well, you know most of the tale, but you likely haven't heard it this way.
Featuring fierce sisters, a love for gardening and a solid retelling, this is not one to miss!

I didn't feel like I really needed another beauty and the beast retelling, but I actually really liked this. I liked that Bryony was pragmatic and got to put her skills to good use.

Overall, this was a very charming fairytale retelling and short audiobook to listen to while going about my day! :)

I really liked Bryony as a protagonist and while I think that the character of
Beast
and the buildup of their relationship could've been explored more and the ending felt a tad rushed, I still ended up really liking the storyline. :)

T. Kingfisher's writing style translates beautifully into audiobooks in my opinion and the narrator did a great job in bringing it to life!

I like Kingfishers' writing style a lot. I paused a couple times reading this book to make sure it wasn't one of her scary ones because I'm a baby. I liked how the relationship developed and the different direction the story went, but I can't say I care all that much about beauty and the beast retellings and it felt like something was missing here, not sure what. No regrets having read it though.

A fun little cozy fantasy retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I rather liked the pacing and the characters but found it overly descriptive in some areas and lacking in description in others. I think the voice of the narrator through me off a bit at times, might have been better as a physical read.
