This book had so much potential and I had such high hopes for it. I was, unfortunately, deeply disappointed. 

There is no character building and the characters has no depth. Nothing gets explained. 
There is no romance (author has said this book's not a dark romance (although the author says it's a dark romance/dark fiction in the foreword), but dark fiction - and that is ok. But there is still NO romance even at the end 😂). There is no love (between mum/daughter) or any other character.



**Some spoilers below**
Absolutely nothing get explained. Why did Leni loose all her friends? Why did Piper turn her back at her? Leni is suppose to be an (almost) Olympic gymnastic. Where are her team? Doesn't the team have insurance when something happens to their members? This is sat in USA, so probably not? Idk, I find it weird.
Why didn't Leni's grandmother check up on her after the call abruptly ended?

Half the book is also pure SA. That's usually not a problem, but it falls flat and mostly for shock value.

Ok, I've been sitting with this book, heavily, on my mind for past few days trying to figure out how to rate this, how to review this. What the fuck did I read? Talk about book hangover.

I will start with this... The following is from the authors IG author page:

Ok, did we read all of that? Yes.
Are we still going to read it? Yes.

This was honestly a really hard book to read. A lot is going on, a lot of pain, so much to deal with. The characters were brutal and the situation are horrendous.
This was the first book I read that went this far and I dont know why, but it captivated me to the point of doing absolutely nothing but devour this in a single day.
