This was so horribly painful (or painfully horrible) that I had to stop at page 100. It didn't take me long to get that far, so don't think I wasted too much of my precious book-reading time on this.

To be honest I thought this book was only okay. Laurel was a rather unlikable character. The only character that really made me want to keep reading was David and of course he's in the middle of the dreaded love triangle.
I'm going to have to take a break from YA's or something because the love triangle is starting to annoy me. How 'bout you? I love series where the main character just loves one person and we actually get to see the relationship grow instead of 'I can't decide'. Sorry I went off on a little rant there...
On the plus side, the author had a fresh take on the Fae that I enjoyed. If there is a second book, I think there will be, I'll give it a chance.

Okay, so props to the author for trying to be original, but honestly is the kind of book I think I need an EMBARRASSED TO HAVE READ THIS shelf. Again.
Also, here's another book with a ridiculously named female character (sorry to all you named Laurel out there; I do think it's very pretty, but it sounds like one where the author was so worried about picking a name for her character that she forgot to write a real personality in as well).
I just feel like the concept was very beautiful and the execution poor. It might have been good if the plot was completely different without the usual young adult theme of LOVE TRIANGLES *gasp* I didn't even bother to read the following book.
In any case, good read for someone in late middle school who likes fantasy and is willing to lower their standard for a novel or two.

wings is about this girl called laurel and she is different from everybody else, she doesnt like being indoors alot and she only eats certian foods. that is what we know at the beggining. she starts a new high school and meets this boy called david who is very welcoming to laurel. As this story progresses we find out other differences that laurel has compaired to humans and find out why.

i loved this story. i loved the character of david. i thought he was really sweet with laurel and how he didnt freak out with the discoveries they made together and he was always there for laurel no matter what.
tamlin however is a total different character to david even though they both dearly cared for laurel. it was sweet to see the friendship/relationship she had with both of them.
