I love that you have to pay such close attention to the pictures in this book about a chase. The cover is rather unfortunate... I passed by this one for years without ever being interested enough to pick it up. Luckily a coworker pointed it out!

I didn't like the illustrations - especially the people.

Caldecott Honor Award Winning story book. But too creepy. And too odd. Definitely interesting and creative but not in a good way. And I plain didn't like the art.

This is so well-done. Wonderful illustrations, love the wordless aspect- really encourages creative engagement with the book (and the child reading/being read to).

What a bizarre wordless picture book...first, my kids were not interested in this book (in the least). Second, I found the illustrations to be creepy and the storyline to be a bit disturbing. I guess I am in the minority here.

A strawberry snatcher chases the grey lady trying to get her strawberries until he finds blackberries. There is no text. The pictures in the book create suspense and convey the movement of the chase. There are details in the pictures that make it fun to read more than once.
Themes - stealing, chasing, fear, families
It would be fun to let students look through this book and create dialogue to go with it.
