My kiddo was a little put off at first by the change in theme. The order isn’t very clear among the stories that take place after the TV series (at least not to me), so we started this one before The Rift. Once we read The Rift and started watching Korra, I suggested we try this one again. The second attempt was a hit. Much as in the real world, racism is a problem without clear solutions, which makes for a complex and darker tone, but it excites his natural sense of fairness and helps him see the gray areas more clearly.

I was a little nervous to read this one because it has a different artist than the other comics, but it was really good! It had a different vibe than the other ones but it portrayed the characters really well. It also continued to set up Korea and dealt with important topics like the other comics.
