4.5 stars. This was a really good story. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I thought it got a bit slow in the middle. I think that both Ivy and Sebastian are a bit unlikeable, and I think that makes the story better. You can understand why they're making the choices they are while still feeling like they aren't necessarily making the best ones. This was my first K. A. Tucker book, but this one definitely makes me think I should read some more!

Sometimes authors keep writing book after book in a series and it just gets really old. Sometimes a series comes to an end way before I'm ready to say good-bye. This is a series that falls in the second category.

I can't figure out how K.A. Tucker manages to write these super-serious, sometimes gut-wrenching stories while somehow maintaining a light-hearted, romantic tone with the characters and all that they are going through. I get the warm fuzzies AND the chills while reading her books. It's a strange, yet awesome combination.

Ivy is fierce and fantastic and just when she thinks she's found a place to put down roots, her life is turned on it's head. Cue the sexy, mysterious Sebastian who manages to sneak past her walls while hiding secrets that could literally be the death of her. Their chemistry is palpable but their walls are built pretty high. Will they be able to let down their guards long enough to open their hearts?

This story was dramatic and tense but broken up beautifully with sweet, tender moments between Ivy and Sebastian as they explore an ever-growing attraction. There is humor in moments spent with Dakota and her revolving door of misfits dinner guests. Moments full of sexual tension turned explosive heat. There's guns and fights, blood and betrayal. Basically this story is everything that makes a book great. Even though I'm sad to see it come to end, there couldn't have been a better way to wrap up this series.

Wow this was incredible and I loved every single word of it. K A Tucker has quickly become one of my favourite authors.
This book is about tattoo artist Ivy and I just adore her fierce no nonsense character. She is brilliant and the storyline fits her so well. I also loved the lead male Sebastian, his complex emotional layers and will to do better made him worthy of Ivy but also so interesting to read about.
I wish there were more books to this series! I would have loved one about Ivys best friend Dakota.
However I am so in love with this darker series that shows that love conquers all. I highly recommend it and its a K A Tucker series for those that aren't a fan of smutty scenes as well.
Basically I loved it!

Another wonderful KA Tucker series completed. I loved the romantic suspense combo and the characters introduced along the way. Each book has some type of crime organization and mystery associated with it-think Russian Mob, IRA and secret security company- so they are a bit darker reads but still so good!

Ivy Lee photo c8141041-90b5-4fce-a367-bb1b86b2097b_zpspe5lggb9.jpg was first introduced in Chasing River, Book 3 in the Burying Water Series, and she was a feisty tattoo artist who was visiting Dublin. It was my second favorite in the series after Chasing River. I do like that Ivy was a more complicated character than Amber.

Ivy was now back in San Francisco working her uncle Ned in his tattoo shop until one day when Ivy walked in on her the murder of her uncle and a client. Ivy quickly became a loose end that the murderers needed to tie up. But first the perpetrators needed to know what Ivy saw, and if she had any incriminating documents. So they sent in an assassin extraordinaire, to retrieve the evidence and clean up the unfinished business.
Say hello to ex-navy seal Sebastian Riker photo 2fc81848-a9f6-4438-bdac-7fde0f1c155a_zpsyiq5viiu.jpg
Sebastian began by befriending the loner tattoo artist to probe her awareness into her uncle’s affairs. He was quickly intrigued by the smart mouthed girl. They just seemed to click and Sebastian quickly found that this assignment will require him to make hard choices and sacrifices he was unwilling to make.

I liked Ivy because she was both strong and vulnerable at the same time. She was rude, yet sweet. She seemed aloof but she was caring. She seemed like a loner but she enjoyed the company of those who accepted her. Most of all, she was true to herself. Ivy was a great match for Sebastian because he needed to be needed. This was his shot at redemption and he took it!

K.A Tucker did a great job developing the characters. Ivy and Sebastian’s story was a little dark, but it was not depressing. It was almost like the story was a tattoo. She sketched, then outlines, then shaded and filled in. There was mystery and suspense; there was love and romance too. The story was about Ivy and Sebastian’s evolution as solitary figures into a unit. It was how they able to sow seeds of trust and eventually depend on it. It wasn’t insta-love, nor was this story a fast paced romance. It was the progressive growth of Sebastian and Ivy as they made peace with their past and decided what they wanted for the future. This was romantic suspense done right. The writing was really good. I really enjoyed this book and the series as a whole.

This was a great listen! The narrators took Tucker's words and brough them to life in the best of ways. I was nervous the entire book because of what Sebastian was hiding from Ivy, but it was worth it in the end. I loved the suspense, the couple, and the experience. This was a strong ending to a great series.

I really enjoyed this series. This book is the last of the set and is Ivy's story. We've met Ivy previously, particularly in Chasing River and has glimpses of the fact that she's not all just the tough exterior she shows to the world.

The book starts off with Ivy and her Uncle at his tattoo shop and she ducks out to get some food for them and his client. When she returns theres a robbery going on, which turns lethal. All with Ivy as a witness hiding under a desk.

Enter Sebastian, and his task of finding what the robbers were looking for, and finding out if Ivy is a threat.

And so begins the tale of Ivy and Sebastian's romance, the secrets he's keeping, the toughness Ivy tries to hide behind starting to fall away and whether or not they will actually end up together. Amongst all this, Sebastian is trying to keep Ivy safe, the cops are trying to work out who killed her Uncle and why, and Ivy is just trying to get on with life and figure everything out.

I really loved Ivy's character. She has such spunk but deep down she's a softie. I also loved Sebastian as a character and even with what he did for work, it made sense. He had his values and in his way it was doing the right thing. Theres a sensitive side to both of them and it really seems to come out when they're together. I feel like some people may think their relationship moved fast, but as I was reading the book it wasn't what I was thinking. It seemed just right and suited both of them.

This was a great way to end the series, although I certainly wouldn't complain about getting another book which is divided into 4 sections and shows us where all the couples and characters are later in life. I think that would be really interesting as all the characters in this series have their own quirks and interesting stories.

A must read if you're a fan of the Burying Water series, just as good as the others, and an enjoyable read.
