Stunning. Heart wrenching. Real. The rawness of this book captured me from the first page. Not necessarily uplifting, but genuine in a way that was comforting.

Gorgeous prose, written like a memory, with nature and the land an essential component to the story.  Victoria is forever tied to the land, and even when her home disappears, she learns to survive on her own terms with her beloved peach trees.  Her story centers around the longing and feelings of a bittersweet, tragic first love, and the consequences of her and her family's choices, which reverberate throughout the generations. Ultimately, the story ends with hope.
