A nice light read.
Not mushy. My grandmother introduced me to Devereaux years ago. I haven't read and since she died. This was a nice reintroduction. My Nanny would have enjoyed it.

It was a little disappointing. I expected much more from Jude Deveraux. Remember how much fun was Montgomery series. I really liked one with mystery from a past when main characters were solving crime from around '20/'30 - it was "Sweet liar" and I was so excited that I will get a cosy mystery series from one of my favourite writers. But it wasn't what I expected. It was decent, with humour and drama, but the mystery - too much plot holes and ignoring obvious suspects.

This story was certainly a cozy mystery: 20yr old murder, humor, romance.
Pros: liked the story, only guessed half of the ending.
Cons: story was too long, wordy, distracting bad grammar and writing, the ending was a little to neat (murderer confesses to all), we do not connect with one of the main characters.
