Basic story, basic writing style. But really, no one should be allowed to move between first person and third person like that, it's just sloppy.

Men seemed to be terribly represented in Chick Lit and this is no exception. Actually women weren't that well represented in my mind either.

I was nervous. I've read How Stella got her groove back and let me tell you... It was not the easiest book I've ever read BUT this one right here. A classic. Terry accomplished every writer's dream. Not only did she write an amazing book but she also wrote an amazing screenplay for a movie that is just as respectable in its own right. The characters are human. Most importantly, they are friends. It speaks to how important friendship/community is in most of everything else that goes on in life. Terry did her thing on this one. She is an amazing storyteller and I can tell she takes her craft serious. I can tell from this that she knows the rule and How Stella Got Her Groove back was most likely a stylistic choice. It will be reading the sequel Getting to Happy. I'm so excited.
