I love the house. I think it would love me too, and make a room for me. And a garden.

Woof. This book started out good and then went off the rails.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be getting the next one. There was a time where I stopped reading for a few months because the plot hit such a low point. Nothing was happening that drove the plot forward. What didn't help was that it happened in the very middle of the book, however, I encourage readers to push through this because you get to see amazing character development in literally everyone and it is beautiful. Harkness creates such a wonderful dynamic between her characters and they become this loving, chaotic, and accepting family. I truly loved reading it.

I also really loved all the historical details included in the book. Harkness really did her research. I can just really appreciate how much time and effort must have gone into compiling information and facts from various time periods, especially when you consider the length of the book.

Overall, a fantastic book, would definitely recommend. I look forward to continuing the series.

entertaining!

not all interpretations of vampires are good. this one is excellent. I find the author's "rules" for vampires, Witches, etc, solid. the relationship between Diana and Matthew is wonderful. Will continue with the series.

4 stars maybe 3.75 stars?

I wanted this to be a 5 star read for me so badly but it fell short for me. I loved how strong Diana was in the beginning but then she became a whimpering schoolgirl very quickly.

I’m probably going to be continuing the series especially with how it ended. Some parts felt rushed and not flushed out fully which is why I didn’t rate it 5 stars.

The last 250 pages became work for me to get through. Something happened to the momentum that just lost me. I wanted something different from the romance and if this is going pregnancy trope then I may be out… I’ve got mixed feelings on this one.

Nothing was happening! It was just minutes and minutes of nothing happening! Then I looked at reviews and decided it wasn’t worth my time

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this! I’ve already picked up the second book so I guess that says it all.
