I listened to the audiobook and devoured it within a few days. I was immediately sucked in! It felt like a “classic” spooky story. And a book within a book? Yes please. I will definitely recommend this one to spooky story loving kids at the Library.

Very spooky and I loved the parallels, and the ending!! But I wasn’t super into the whole “one sister is beautiful one sister is not one sister is sporty one sister is not” trope- kinda cliche. Still, something that I will recommend to my kids because I know some who love that and it really was spooky!

I love how quickly I got swept up in the story! I just felt like the ending was rushed more than it needed to be, but perhaps that pace is best for a middle grade reader (the intended audience).
