Full disclosure, I did PR for this book and am friends with the editors and many of the writers. Still, I don't think I'd be the only person to find this anthology delightful. All featuring monster protagonists, the stories vary in tone from dark to humorous.

What a fantastic little anthology this is! As promised in the synopsis, Unnatural Order contains a wondrous variety of monsters, many of them as human as you or me! The writing styles vary from fittingly clinical to almost fairytale-esque, and the occasional, unexpected touches of softness were lovely.

There were, as with all anthologies, a few select stories that stood out to me.

Truth Be Told is an fascinating concept, and The Scent Of Olives takes a tragically familiar situation and turns it on its head. Bruises Blacj And Blue is unlike anything I've ever read before! Crash Baby had me in tears, and The Lovers gave me goosebumps.

I highly recommend Unnatural Order to lovers of monsters, lovers of machines, and lovers of good stories all around!
