I feel the need to change my rating of the first book in this series. This book dragged on with too many flashbacks and protagonist meltdowns. It got more interesting about halfway through but then became pretty melodramatic and heavy handed.
Spoiler I'm disgusted by Nastasya's relationship with Reyne. I can get behind forgiving the man who helped murder your family and attempted to rape you, but he doesn't do nearly enough to redeem himself. He doesn't even seem to show much remorse. He just has an attitude of- well, it happened a long time ago. That doesn't nearly cut it. They don't even have any chemistry. They are both attracted to each other's looks and familiar histories... okay. I felt more positively towards Incy if I'm being honest.
I almost stopped reading this book multiple times and I wish I would have. Definitely not reading the last book.

After all this time, I finally got the read the next book in this series. I remember loving the first book very much, so I really wanted to read the sequel. It didn't disappoint me, though it might have been a little less good than Immortal Beloved. But Nastasya was still a very hilarious narrator and she made the book really funny at some points.

Not as good as the first, but that's mainly because I hate
Spoiler death of characters -- especially when they've just reconciled with the main character.
Another really fun, quick read.

Nas has decided to stay at River's edge and actually learning something. She also thinks that maybe she and Reyn might, maybe, possibly give it a go. But then things start to go wrong and Nas is convinced that its her magic. It sends her fleeing into the night and coincidentally her old crowd's arms. Darkness has returned.

It was really good. I love how snarky Nas gets. Her commentary is part of the reason I like this series. Her avoidance issues do drive me nuts a bit. I love the mythology in this. The historical back flashes and how they add to Nas's character. It's awesome.

sometimes i just wanted to scream at Nastasya's face. I mean, what the hell was wrong with her? everybody was trying to help her and she was just stalled in a self-pity bubble.
she spent most part of her time thinking how miserable she was just because she was from darkness and her familly was from darkness, etc. Of course nastasya was more mature, but the way she was acting with everybody who was trying to help her and be her friend, she was so ungrateful and coward and selfish, it just drove me crazy.
The other charcters were more well developed and I loved that. This book also had more action than the first, and was more exciting. I really enjoyed it.

This book was like a french fry. I like them but, I didn't think it was the best french fry I ever had. Eternally Yours be that light at the end of the tunnel(not from my death of boredom) that saves me! I give this book 3 stars here's the review->Greyland Reviews

Darkness Falls starts out with Nastasya still at the farm with River. She came to the farm after 450 years of partying, and recklessness. She is trying to turn her life around, and while doing so is learning more about herself, her family history, and her magic. She left behind her friends, including Incy, her best friend without telling them where she is going. After watching him use magic to break the spine of a cab driver that made him mad, she decides enough is enough and goes to the farm for help.
Flashbacks from her 450 years, and how how the world has changed during that time are a part of what makes the Immortal Beloved series interesting. Nasty also has a sarcastic sense of humor that makes this series one I will return to.

****Spoilers*****
While living there she gets a job, and helps with chores. She starts having dreams of Incy, and in those dreams he has killed her friends, and demands that she come back. After several several weeks of peace, and self improvement, everything starts to go wrong. She runs away from the farm believing she is bringing evil to her friends. Turns out Incy was sending curses at her to make her leave. Once she does he pretends to be the sweet, caring best friend he has always been. Then he takes her to a secret club, where immortals are stealing the life force from humans. The humans agree, and even want to give it away, but have no idea of the consequences. She and two of her friends attempt to leave the club, feeling that it isn't right. Again Incy pretends that everything is fine, until he puts a binding spell on them. He steals the essence of their two friends, killing them in the process, and reveals that all these years (100 years) he has been waiting for Nas to share her magic, because she comes from a powerful family she has much more powerful magic than he does. Just as he is about to steal her power, she uses her own to defeat him. River and the gang show up, and Incy is taken to a recovery center. She and Reyn agree to give their relationship a chance, finally after weeks of pining for each other.
