I rarely give a review after trying only 1 recipe from a cookbook but this one had me changing my MO. (The recipe for Crayfish Sweet Chili Noodles might have you singing the same tune, too.)

I'm usually hesitant when it comes to Chinese recipes due to the fact that I have a gluten sensitivity along with a soy allergy, but this book contains enough recipes that are varied enough to where neither ingredient is called for. Or, is one or both is, they are easy to omit or substitute other ingredients with (for example, my husband used millet noodles instead of the wheat flour noodles the recipe mentioned above calls for).

Each chapter - or course - starts with a couple pages of explanation or story from Ching-He. The accompanying pictures are glorious and make everything look so yummy.

Net/net, even if you have food sensitivities/allergies, don't let that stop you, too, from experimenting with the recipes here. You will be glad you did!

PS - yes, the recipes really ARE quick and easy. Well, the one that we tried sure was. From start to finish it took under 20 minutes!
