Want to get more into cozy mystery so had to start with a classic.

This was a fun who-done-it but the answer was a little disappointing to me personally, everyone being involved makes it feel as if none of the clues really mattered. I was entertained nonetheless.

I saw the ending coming because I watched a lot of Blue's Clues Detective Conan, and it put my brain into overdrive for mysteries like this. I enjoy this good old-fashioned style of 'whodunnit' over the type of mystery you seen in more modern day shows, so it was pretty great to finally be able to give this one a go. Overall, it was fantastic.

I had a really hard time getting through this book and almost gave up on it on multiple occasions; however, I think a lot of it had to do with the audio book version I listened to. I like Dan Stevens from Downton Abbey and was excited to see he read a version but MAN he does annoying voices for every single character!

Even without the voices, I think I would have found Poirot and Bouc insufferable. Poirot comes off as a less-interesting Sherlock Holmes and Bouc comes across as a bumbling idiot who's there to make Poirot look smart.

The solution to the mystery is ultimately interesting and fun, which was the book's saving grace.
